Tracey first began dabbling in lesbian fiction while recovering from a tonsillectomy in the mid-1990s, then got more serious about it in 2007, when she began writing her bestselling novel “The Candidate” for Bella Books. Coinciding with Hillary Clinton’s (first) presidential campaign, “The Candidate” seemed to strike the right note with readers, having sold well over 10,000 copies and counting. “The Campaign”, released in 2012, is the successful sequel to “The Candidate”.
Tracey has written several other lesbian romance novels as well, including the war-themed, Lambda Literary finalists “No Rules of Engagement” and “Last Salute”. “No Rules” broke new ground in contemporary lesbian fiction, being the first popular lesbian romance novel set in modern day warfare. Tracey’s novel ‘Side Order of Love’ is also a Rainbow Writers (Romance Writers of America) first place winner.
A published anthology of short stories called “Beneath the Surface” is a collaborative effort from Tracey’s local writing group and contains two of her short stories. Tracey also has short stories available for purchase at Bella Books.
Tracey worked in the daily newspaper business as a journalist for more than 25 years and is now happily semi-retired. She enjoys playing and watching hockey, golfing, learning the guitar, and spends her time with her partner Sandra and their two Labrador retrievers on the shores of Georgian Bay in central Ontario.
